Information
This 4 km coastal walk takes you from the historic town of Buenavista del Norte along low volcanic cliffs, past a black sand beach, and ends at the natural ocean pools of Las Mujeres.
The hike starts in the historic center of Buenavista del Norte, where the main square is lined with cafés and restaurants serving local Canarian dishes. On weekends, you’ll also find a small local market with fresh produce and handmade goods.
From the square, head toward the coastline. The path follows the ocean along low cliffs, where in the past locals produced salt from natural rock pools and fishermen gathered their daily catch.
After a gentle walk, you’ll reach Playa de las Arenas.
Continuing further along the coast, the trail takes you to the Las Mujeres ocean pool, beautiful natural rock pools with clear water. On calm days, it’s a lovely spot to cool off before heading back.
The return route follows the same path back to Buenavista del Norte.
