NUDIST BEACHES OF TENERIFE
Tenerife has several beaches where nudism is common and accepted. Some are official nudist beaches, others are more local spots where people naturally practice it. Most of them are natural, quiet, and away from the main tourist areas. Below you’ll find the main ones divided by north and south, with a few notes on access and current conditions.
Nudist Beaches in Tenerife North
Black sand beach close to Santa Cruz. Popular with locals, calm atmosphere. Nudism is common here.
Playa El Arenal (Bajamar)
Wide beach near Bajamar, used by nudists at the far end. Less crowded than nearby natural pools, but waves can be strong.
Playa de Benijo

Located in Anaga Rural Park, traditionally a nudist beach, but note that access is currently closed due to unsafe stairs.
Playa de los Patos
- Closed
One of Tenerife’s most famous nudist beaches with long black sand and views of the northern coast. Popular with surfers and nudists, but access is currently closed due to landslides and unsafe paths.
Nudist Beaches in Tenerife South
Known locally as “hippie beach.” Golden sand, natural setting, and popular with nudists. Access requires a short walk.
The far left side of this large golden sand beach is a nudist area, tucked behind the dunes near Montaña Roja. Easy to reach.
Playa Escondida
A small hidden beach in the south where the access is tricky and not ideal for everyone.
Nudism in Tenerife is mostly found on natural beaches, away from the busy resorts. Some places, like La Tejita or Diego Hernández, are easier to reach, while others require a walk or have limited access.
Always check local signs and respect closures, as safety comes first.
If you visit, keep the beaches clean and remember these are shared spaces — enjoy the freedom, but do so responsibly.
