Discover Playas de Benijo
Playa de Benijo, Playa de Almaciga and Playa del Roque de las Bodegas are 3 beaches located in Anaga Rural Park on the north of Tenerife. The beaches are famous for their blackest volcanic sand in Tenerife, perfect surfing conditions and a sunset that is worth seeing.
The 1st beach, Playa del Roque de las Bodegas, is popular among surfers. It offers several restaurants right above the beach, parking is also above.
The 2nd beach, Playa Almáciga, is the largest, which you’ll appreciate during high tide when the ocean rises. Parking is available right next to the beach, but there are no restaurants here.
The 3rd beach, Playa de Benijo, is our favorite! requires you to descend 121 stairs to reach it. The stairs begin right where the restaurants are located. Parking is limited to just a few cars.
Hiking Trails: PR-TF 6 winds through Anaga Rural Park, passing the Faro de Anaga lighthouse, the remote Playa Roque Bermejo, and Chamorga village. The trail offers wild ocean views, rugged cliffs, and dense forest, making it ideal for nature lovers and those seeking quieter paths.
