Information

This circular 3,6 km trail runs through the lush woodland of the Protected Landscape of Las Lagunetas, offering one of the best examples of laurel forest (monteverde) on Tenerife. The route starts and ends at the Lomo la Jara recreational area, making it ideal for a short, peaceful forest walk.

The path partly overlaps with the Agua García accessible trail, but extends deeper into the forest. It’s suitable for most fitness levels, though the final stretch includes a slightly steeper ascent. The trail is not fully signposted—use of GPS is highly recommended, and it’s best avoided during poor weather.

From Lomo la Jara, the path descends slightly and then veers left at the first fork. You’ll pass through shaded ravines and walk along the wooden walkways of the accessible trail, reaching the Heritage Information Centre. From there, a left turn takes you deeper into the monteverde forest, where you’ll enter the Guardianes Centenarios loop and walk among viñatigos (Persea indica) that are over 800 years old. The trail gradually loops back to the starting point.
